Wahndo's World* - Getting to Know Wahndo
Hello World.
I'm starting Wahndo's World to share my thoughts, experiences, research, and ramblings as they arise in a longer format than tweeting.
Life is too short to not do what you want to do. For whatever reason, I've wanted to start writing and sharing my perspective for a while. So I woke up today and thought, why not start today? Finally put something out. What's the worst that could happen?
Below is some Q&A to share a little more about me and add a bit of context to kick things off. Not all posts will be about me, don't worry, but this is my space so I'll do what I want :)
Who is Wahndo?
Yeah, who the heck am I?
I'm not rich, nor am I a magnificent trader. I'm not famous, nor am I an influencer of any sort. I'm just a regular person that enjoys to laugh, learn, and long.
Growing up, I was always curious about science, technology, engineering, math, and the arts. I also played baseball pretty competitively up until college where I like to say that I turned into a math-lete. My passion for learning about how things work and building drove me to pursue a formal education in civil and structural engineering.
I am the son of a first-generation financial professional and entrepreneur, and was fortunate to learn the principles of money at a young age. I've been following and participating in different markets to various degrees for about 15 years.
The first part of my career was focused primarily on designing building structures for skyscrapers and transportation hubs in the US. This was a childhood dream of mine that I am proud to have accomplished. After some time practicing professionally, I decided to move on for several reasons. Maybe this is something I will elaborate on in a future post.
Easiest said, I experienced the millennial "burn-out" and thirst for something new. I spent almost a year learning the foundations of data science, machine learning, and product management. I don't have a formal education in computer science, but during college I picked up some python and linux chops through self-learning and mentorship from a close friend who is beyond an expert in the field.
Funny enough, I full-circled back to my existing firm and now support the management of firm-wide research and innovation efforts within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
Non-linear is a good way to describe my path so far. I would never be where I am today if I hadn't decided that I wanted something better for myself in the future and hadn't taken action to change my status quo at the time. Don't be afraid to pursue what you want, you'll find that committing is the hardest part. I hope that is something you can learn from me immediately.
Music is also a super important part of my life. I'm constantly listening to all things electronic, house, techno, downtempo, dnb, rap, hip-hop, alt-, indie-, emo-rock, and many other genres. Sharing music is how we'll solve our geopolitical issues. Here's my favorite mix of all time, by Nightmares on Wax for Boiler Room:
How did Wahndo get into crypto?
Something about Bitcoin, psychedelics, and the Silk Road in 2011.
I'll do a deeper dive on this topic in a future post.
Gotta leave you hanging so you have a reason to subscribe ;)
WTF will Wahndo write about?
This is my corner of the internet where I'll write about and share whatever I want!
You can expect future posts to include information about various topics like:
Cryptocurrencies & Digital Assets
Web3 Culture & Projects
Personal Finance, Wealth Management & Investing
Macroeconomics & Current Events
Startups & Entrepreneurship

and MORE!
I plan to experiment with different types of posts, including a mix of long-form essays, analysis, and research, and short-from lists of tweets, videos, and podcasts that I find informative. My goals with this blog is to provide valuable perspectives and insights to your attention, while taking time to practice my analysis and communications skills.
I'd like to collaborate with others I meet along this journey and co-publish pieces when it makes sense to. Maybe get into interviewing, if that ends up making sense. There are a few anons I have in mind already. If you're interested, please reach out!
If you've taken the time to read this, I appreciate you. Chances are we have much to learn from each other. I'm a believer that the people we meet unlock true value in our lives, so let's get connected. Feel free to DM me on Twitter if you'd like to chat.
Cheers for subscribing :)
